Happy Birthday!
Dustin turned 19!! We had a nice little birthday party for him and went out to Hemmingways for his dinner.
After dinner we all walked around Bass Pro to see the sights. Kevin currently is working at the Springfield store doing a remodel job. He makes the lovely trees.
He spent alot of time showing us all his trees!
You can probably see how much everyone enjoys looking at trees for extended periods of time! But it was really nice to have some time together for Dustin's birthday.
Kennady really liked the fish tanks and the big fish. Grandpa really liked showing Kennady all the fun things to look at!

Things always change!

If you listened to Conference, there was a talk about CHANGE. I cringed and Kortney laughed at me and said that talk was for me. SO Monday the next change came around- Dustin's mission call was changed. A call from Salt Lake requesting him to report to the MTC on JUNE 3rd!! A month and a half earlier than planned. Wow. He said he would and so a mere 4 weeks after Kendra's wedding and reception, My baby boy will leave home for Russia for 2 years. He and I are both a bit stressed out. I am so excited about this wonderful oppertunity and at the same time- well there are not the right words.
AND-
Kendra is getting married!! in two weeks we start driving to Idaho and it is like pushing a big ball over the edge of a very steep hill. I think it will all come together and be wonderful. It is easy to get wrapped up in insignifcant details and forget the purpose of what you started. Don't sweat the details. Happiness is a way of traveling, not a destination. If it is funny later, it is funny now.
Dustin took the picture of the squirrel out in our yard. It has nothing to do with anything, but I like the picture, and I always like to post pictures!

Samara Russia!
Dustin got his mission call to Samara Russia. He leaves July 15ht. Wedding plans for Kendra are still in progress. Wedding is in Idaho on April 25th. Receptions will be held in Idaho Falls on April 25th, and Branson May 1st. Needless to say, I have very long lists that I am trying to stay on top of, and blogging is not to high on that list. But, I do have a video clip that I will try to get on here very soon of Dustin opening and reading his mission call.

Yikes X 2
Time is an elusive thing. When you are young, it goes by really slow and you just cant wait for what is next. As you get older it seems to go by faster and you are never ready for the next thing and it is always here before you think it should be. How does that work??
Dustin's papers went to Salt Lake City. I thought it would be 2-6 weeks before we get his letter back that tells him when and where. I was told yesterday that it is more like with in 2 weeks- YIKES! So we are getting very close to knowing. Now is the time to put your guess in as to where Dustin will be sent. My guess either Zimbabwe or Alaska. He will do great where ever he goes. His availability date is June 1st.
Now on to the next major event in the life of a mother- Kendra's wedding. we are less than 2 months from the big day! YIKES again! Things are starting to come together somewhat. The announcements are getting close to go to print. The cake top has been ordered (that is a good story!) and food has been discussed with a very good caterer! (Nicole!!) Dress has been bought. My dress is in process. Locations have been determined. And Decorations have been thought about. We have not addressed the flowers yet and travel has been planned, but not booked. Can you say Stress? But it is all good.
I take things one at a time and only seriously worry about one thing at a time. I seem to be able to stay on top of it all. Kendra has done all the planning and work on the actual Wedding and reception in Idaho. I remind both of us often that SIMPLE IS GOOD, and "if it's funny later, than it is funny now". I have decided that is my motto. When you have kids like mine, that is a good motto to live by!!
